Hello everyone I just completed a watercolor painting I have called Crafty Girls. I was inspired by a group I occasionally meet with. The girls that go have never met before but love to do arts and crafts. There are girls from all ages that come and share their talents with the group. Every time we get together another girl is able to share snippets of their life story. It reminds me of the movie called How to Make an American Quilt .
If you have never seen this movie before it is definitely a must see.
Took me several days to complete this painting and I'd like to share with you the process of the painting.
In the final illustration, I styled the girlfriends with different outfits I found made by small biz owners/ artisans. Please be sure to visit their websites.

Wine Tasting in Napa
A couple of weeks ago I went to Napa for the first time. It was truly a magical experience. The very first winery we stopped at had a group of girlfriends that were there for a bachlorette weekend. I really wish I would have captured the moment. They were all dolled up in their colorful maxi dress and the backdrop of the winery was stunning. I have had this image of them in my mind for the last couple of weeks and have been itching to sketch them.
So this week I decided to illustrate three girlfriends wine tasting in Napa. Here is my process....
I included some of my jewelry in this fashion illustration such as the pyrite cluster earrings
Go give some love to these amazing designers!

and then I was inspired by the blue dress on the girl on the right. I designed a sterling silver necklace with an abalone cross, freshwater pearls, iolite and pearlized chalcedony.
I also designed abalone cross earrings to go along with the necklace.

Girlfriends Coffee Illustration #4
I was asked to do a fourth girlfriends coffee time illustration. A friend of mine purchased the other three illustrations from my society6 shop on mugs and said it would be great to have a fourth to complete the set. It was so exciting to see my illustrations on the mugs. I am waiting for mine to come in the mail as well.

| Tea for Two by Ana Maria Sanchez |
On rainy day, missing my girlfriends I made this illustration inspired by a photograph by Steven Meisel. I painted with acrylics and prismacolor pencils. This is the first of a series of three I plan to illustrate.
I also played stylist by searching the internet for some amazing pieces to include in the illustration. Check out them all out!
This illustration is now available for purchase in my Society6 shop.
