An Artist Talks to God

I was listening to a podcast from Craftcast where they interviewed author Sam Bennett. In the interview the author spoke about some poems that she had written on the fly and put away for about a year thinking they were not that good. A year went by and she showed her poems to friends and they absolutely loved it.  With the encouragement of her friends she published them in an ebook called An Artist Talks to God. So the author says that you should always show your art, poems, etc. because what you consider not to be good other people might love. I ended up purchasing the book and absolutely love it! So glad she listened to her friends.

Girls Night Card Game

I was inspired by this 1954 photograph from the Flickr page of the State Library and Archives of Florida of some women playing bridge.

I decided to do an illustration with the girlfriends in some cute modern day outfits I found on the internet. I had some fun with the illustration by later on placing the girlfriends I'm a wine cellar/ game room.

Check out the outfits from left to right:

Silk hand painted dress by Tanjadesign

Heirloom Rosaries and Custom Portraits

My first communion picture

It is that season when baby's are being baptized, first communions and confirmations are around the corner. If you are looking for that special one of kind gift, look at the special sterling silver wire wrapped heirloom rosaries with freshwater pearls and some with semi precious stones on my website.

I am also offering custom portraits of first communions which I think would be a great gift to give. As you can see above I did a painting of my own first communion. You can contact me for special requests on both the rosaries and portraits.

Dreaming of the Beach

With all this cold weather here in the U.S. I am sure people are ready for the beach!  Found this great photograph in the flickr account from State Library of Queensland which inspired me to illustrate it.

I absolutely loved the fashions in the photographs but had a hard time finding beach coverups similar to the photograph. I went through the internet looking for some great fashions to style the friends in and came up with a few great items.

Here are the outfits from left to right:
Resort Kaftan Bedoin style by Maison Marrakech
Eco Friendly Large Tote by Suspiro Taller
Funky Wide Brim Sun Hat by Freckles California
Pom Pom Jumpsuit by LJC Designss
Sea Blue Beach Bag by As You Fancy

And as always if you loved the illustration check out my shop on Society6.
